Swimming!

Swimming!

Summer

I went swimming today! I knew I was going the moment we woke up. Well, first we got up later than usual. So that meant it must be a weekend. Then A started bustling around to get little E ready because “we are bringing Summer to go swimming”. “Swimming”! I know that word. Every so often, A bundles everyone in the car and we go on a long drive. After we head off on a particular big road with trees on both sides, I just know we are going to this magical place. Either there or Mummy’s house, where I get showered with treats. So either way, just fun. When we finally get to the swim center, I burst through the doors, run up the ramp, and crash into the water. MAGIC. The water whooshes through my golden coat and soaks up my body. Then I start paddling, kicking against the water, and the water hits back. Splash, splash, it goes! I bite them bubbles back. I want to eat you! The toy goes over my head – I go get it! I bring it back up the landing. Then swish – It goes across the water again! I kick as fast I can! She races me to the toy! I get it first! And I bring it back again. I see A smiling as she watches me and shouts after me excitedly. She looks happy. I love her for bringing me swimming. I tell her, “I love this! I can do this every day! Now quick, throw the toy!”.
